MagiQware raises €500K pre-seed to accelerate fault-tolerant quantum computing
We are proud to share another milestone from the TTT-AI portfolio: MagiQware, an academic spin-off supported through the second TTT.AI programme, has secured a €500K pre-seed investment. The round was led by LUMO Labs, fund manager of the TTT.AI programme for Dutch AI and deeptech spin-offs.
From lab to startup
MagiQware is a textbook example of what TTT-AI is built for: helping researchers take the leap from lab to startup. The founding team has deep roots in some of Europe's leading quantum research institutions and combines expertise in quantum computing, AI, and software engineering.
With that combination, the team tackles one of the quantum sector's biggest technical bottlenecks: the enormous cost and complexity of fault-tolerant quantum computing.
What MagiQware does
MagiQware builds software within the quantum compiler and software stack, optimizing how qubits are used when executing quantum algorithms. Its specific focus lies on improving magic state factories, a key building block for scalable, fault-tolerant quantum systems.
The approach is already showing results. The team has designed AI agents capable of discovering optimized magic-state factories, reducing the circuit length of target factories by up to 40%.
Fault-tolerant quantum computing is widely seen as the gateway to the full commercial potential of quantum technology, but its resource requirements remain a major barrier today. By using AI to reduce the overhead needed to run useful quantum algorithms, MagiQware brings practical, commercially relevant quantum computation a step closer.
What's next
The investment will support R&D, product development, and validation of MagiQware's AI-driven magic state factory optimization technology. CEO and co-founder Arash Ahmadi explained that the funding allows the team to accelerate R&D and expand its technical capabilities on the road to practical quantum computation.
