ChemAI - Deep Tech Builders

On 12 November 2026, TTT-AI and the Amsterdam Chemistry Network organize the first edition of ChemAI - Deep Tech Builders in Amsterdam. It's a new event for people working on AI-driven chemistry and materials science who want to turn that work into a company. Instead of the usual conference talks, the day is built around fireside chats with scientists and industry leaders, founder and corporate panels, and an investor reverse pitch. The common thread is what it takes to actually scale a deep tech venture from lab to market.

Why this event

AI is changing how we simulate, discover, and manufacture materials. Turning that science into a company is a separate challenge, and that's what this event is about: researchers considering a spin-off, founders past their first prototype, corporates weighing whether to partner or build, and investors interested in the next wave of European deep tech.

Speakers

  • Prof. Max Welling — CTO, CuspAI
  • Prof. Steven Latré — VP of AI, IMEC
  • Greg de Temmerman — Director Deeptech, TechLeap
  • Dr. Maksym Plakhotnyuk — CEO, ATLANT 3D
  • Dr. Maryam Ghadrdan — CEO, Planck Technologies
  • Dr. Hanne Falsig — Scientist, TOPSOE
  • More speakers to be announced

Programme

The day covers both the bigger picture and the practical side of building in deep tech, including real-world adoption, market creation, and scaling.

Core themes

  • Advanced simulation for chemistry & materials
  • Robotics in lab automation
  • AI infrastructure for scientific workloads
  • Advanced materials (energy, semiconductors, climate tech)

Sessions

  • Fireside conversations. Scientists in dialogue with industry leaders on where the field is headed.
  • Founder and corporate reality sessions. A panel on "Partner, Sell, License, or Build?", and a corporate buyer's perspective on working with deep tech startups.
  • Investor & capital sessions. An investor reverse pitch.
  • Ecosystem & Europe focus. Sessions on the infrastructure behind AI for science, and on Europe's deep tech advantage.

Partners

Organised by TTT-AI and the Amsterdam Chemistry Network, in partnership with Techleap, Hello Tomorrow, Startup Amsterdam, and AmsterdamAI.

Full programme, speaker line-up, and registration details will be announced soon.
